A 5-day taster can be organised in the specialties below in your FY1 and/or FY2. You may contact the Foundation Programme Office to be able to organise a taster in the specialty of your choice. Please advise us well ahead of your intended taster so that we will be able to organise this for you. You are entitled to 5 days study leave for this taster experience. If you take this opportunity in both your FY1 and FY2, the tasters should be done in different specialties.
Below are some of the specialties which offer Taster weeks:

For updated Taster week programmes, please contact the Foundation School Office.
Trainees are also allowed to perform a Taster week abroad as long as evidence of acceptance of this Taster Week is provided to the FP Office prior to applying and evidence of having undertaken this Taster Week is provided upon return. Arrangements for the overseas Taster may be done by the trainee.
The Foundation School is continually in the process of setting up taster programmes with the help of the specialty leads. If you would like to perform a taster week in a specialty which does not appear above, please let us know and we will try to organise this.
